My X

So this is my second week doing p90x..sorta..I did about 4 days in a row the first week, then had circumstances that took me away from it for a few days, then finished that week. So now I'm on my second week 3rd day. Even though I may not be able to do it how you're supposed to, I'm still doin it. It's working, so I will just have to work on getting the timing of doing it when I should down. Anything is better than nothing.
Today was "shoulders and arms" and "ab ripper x". I must admit, I love shoulders and arms. I started with a 5lb weight and now can finish all the exercises with it. So now I need to go buy an 8lb weight and crank it up a notch. What a great feeling though being able to keep up with everyone and finish the exercises. Ab ripper was ok..I would love to do it at night instead of right after the other exercise but I'm afraid I would never get back to it. I'm able to finish a little more than half, which when I started I couldn't do half bc I started to cramp in my muscle buried under my flub. So booyah!! I also forget how much exercise can release stress and anger. Thank you Tony..
I find myself getting into a zone, prepping myself before I even start the exercise. I don't want to talk to anyone or be bothered. Anyone else do this? I don't know if its P90 or just gettin myself ready period.
I have started to have people say things about my weight loss so far. I don't know if they are being supportive or nice, but Mia was following me up the stairs the other day and says "Mom! I think your butt is getting smaller!!" ;-) either way, it made my day..it's hard work, but well worth it..till next time..

My new life....

So I've been really trying to lose weight since Feb of this year. Actually taking it seriously, with a few slips here and there. Recently, I have purchased the P90X system. Pretty much everyone knows about it, and I actually know 2 people that have had nothing but success with it. So I said why not. Why not kick it up a notch? What do I possibly have to lose? To be in better shape? To actually wake up and feel good in the morning?

There have been a lot of things lately that have happened that have opened up my eyes to my life. That I have this one life, this one body, and it's up to me to make my image of happiness actually happen. I am the only one that can make my dreams come true. So I'm doing something about it. Feel free to follow my journey through this period of my life. Blogging about it will just make myself more accountable of what I do, when I do it, and how much I can improve.

"Food is my fuel." It is no longer my escape, my guilty pleasure, and my "I'll start tomorrow." Someone told me one time that it doesn't matter what you eat that makes you full, just so you are full. With that, I have repeated it in my mind almost daily, and my diet began to change. Since February of this year, I have lost 23 lbs. That was just with changing my diet. I am so excited about my results and how I have been only working out now for a week. I can't wait till day 90.

So for all you fellow P90Xers out there, "I'm bringing it...I'm doing my best, and forgetting the rest..."

The flower lady...

So, there's this lady that lives up on the corner of our street. We call her The Flower Lady because outlining her house on all four sides I'm sure, (can only see 3 because of a fence) is basically a small flower outlet. Flowers galore, and she's always out tending to them with her cats.

Last year I was told by my husband and eldest that they saw her walking down the road with her cat. As in, it was on a leash and she was walking it. I laughed and thought wow, how odd, but didn't know how much till I actually saw it with my own eyes. So I thought I would share on what I witnessed the other day. Hope it puts a smile on your face and makes you at laugh at least a little...Because I sure did.

old clothes..

I don't know why, but lately I have been running into a lot of "old" things. Old boxes in the garage that contain my childhood...Old bins of clothes, that I can't believe I thought I was fat when I was wearing them..Mia's old baby clothes..and then today I ran across this little dress in the one tub. I remember Mia in this dress...She was a chubby baby and she filled this dress out so cute. I loved it.

I look at her now and find it so hard to believe that yes, she was once this small. And then I remember that she was that small, and remember thinking, Oh my gosh, I can't even imagine her going to school, growing up, starting to have her strong opinion about things and her outfits.

I've realized a lot lately going through all of this "stuff", that it really is true...Time goes so fast. The older you get, the faster it goes. I've realized you can choose to pick up the pace and keep up, or stay behind and think about all the things you didn't do and should have.

So I've decided to pick up the pace. This is just a way of me saying it out loud. I know it's going to be hard to accomplish what I want, but I've realized that it will be all so worth it in the end. I've gotten back in touch with an old friend. Someone that has known me since I was little. She has now become my inspiration. Just in case you're reading this, thank you. Thank you for saying the words you have to kick me in the ass. I love you and will always, always be here for you.

Neighbors......

So along with many of you out there, we have a problem with our neighbors on the one side of us. You would think they were some white trashers with punk kids or something of the sort, but in fact they are two old ladies that do nothing but sit in their living room and stare out their front window to see what is going on in their hood. I took some pictures of their antics and need to fill you in on a little history.

When Mia and I first moved in here a little over 4 years ago, they were the sweetest old ladies. A little obsessed with their lawn care, but still sweet. They even brought in my trash can on the day after pick up. Which at first I thought I had some hot neighbor who may have been interested in me, but the next week I caught them out the window at 7:30 in the morning and saw that it was one of the old ladies. I was a little heart broken, and felt a little weird thinking to myself, "shouldn't I be bringing their can in?"

So we'll fast forward a few years and bring you up to our falling out...
Oliver was a baby in an infant seat, I think Bruce was working for the flower shop at the time, and I went grocery shopping. I get back with Oliver and the car full of grocery bags, and there are strange men in my yard and driveway. There was a tree service truck in front of the ladies house and there was a huge trash can in the way to where I couldn't even pull into the driveway all the way. The man with a rake was just staring at me while I was just staring at him waiting for him to get the clue to move the can. As I go to get out of the car to move it my self filled with disgust, I look to my left and Ruth (the bossy one that mows her lawn a lot) is staring out her bedroom window at me. She waves...
So I tell the man I need to pull in and he's like "oh o.k.". DUH...Oliver was sleeping so I proceeded to carry in groceries, and about on my 2nd trip out I noticed these people were in my yard in the back and that my clothesline had been cut. So I go back to talk to these people and here they are cutting down a perfectly good tree in the neighbors yard and dragging EVERYTHING through my yard and driveway. There were little sticks all over the driveway and my yard, I guess that's what the trash can was for. It's nice that they were using it. After talking to the "man" in charge, turns out they couldn't get the big stuff under the clothesline and down my driveway so they cut it. THEY CUT IT!!!
So to make a really long story, not so long, we ended up calling the owner of the company and telling them they better get out here and clean up their mess, and that no one had permission to be in our yard let alone start destroying stuff...We tried getting money for damages (we felt very violated) =) out of them but all we got was a new clothesline and the sticks picked up.
Well after they were here, they went next door. At this point, we were irritated at the neighbors for not asking us if it was o.k., but whatever, we would have gotten over it. We don't know exactly what the tree people said to them, but the next trash day, there our can sat, lonely on the curb.

That next summer when we were having a campfire in the back yard, ones that we have had for years every summer, the police were called. You are allowed, you just have to have a bag of marshmallows, or hot dogs near by. I wonder who called the police though?? Hmmmm...
Then just this past winter they started leaving a light on in the backyard and in 10 degree temperatures Ruths bedroom window would be open at night. So here is my theory to that..You know those miracle ear things that you can wear like a blue tooth? Well I think she has one and listens to me and Bruce when we are out on the back porch smoking. Because even in the dead of winter she would have that damn window open, and not just cracked, I mean open, open.

Here is Exhibit A:

This wasn't a warm day, the temp was probably in the 30's....Hmmm

Here is another example of how "sweet" they are now. We had neighbors moving in across the street from them. They had started one week then came back the next to finish. This was on the second day, and I guess they were sick of the traffic in front of their house. The new ones had a bunch of people helping them, so there were cars in their driveway, in front of the old ladies' house, and in front of my house. Whatever, no big deal right? I was trying to catch my own glimpse of the new people too, but didn't care if they were parked in front of my house. Well all of a sudden I see Ruth pull her stupid little Jap car out of her garage and park it in front of her house!!! Can you believe that?? When the people came back they were like, "wtf? and looking around".

Here is Exhibit B and C:

So basically all this does is make me want and wish to be out in the country even more than I already do...I'll update soon on other types of investigating work I may have to do, I'm sure it won't take them long to do something stupid and irritating...
