You ever?

You ever have one of those days that go really well? The kind when everything is going right, and you seem to have found that extra jump in your step? Well I just have had 2 of those in a row and I love it. I'm not sure why, but not going to over-analyze it either...No headaches, no body aches , and it's like everything I touch or do just makes sense and fits all together..Does anyone know what I mean? Or do I just sound like a loon??

I also got to thinkin how I'm going to be 30 years old this month. 30....It doesn't really bother me, I look at it as another celebration of another year of learning. I always make a big deal about birthdays, some people think it's silly and it's just another day, but I don't look at it like that. You can learn so much from reflection and that's what I do, every year. Reflect as to where I have been...where I am...and where it might be that I would like to go further.

I have come a long way, and so has Bruce...We might not have much now, but we are well on our way of making our dreams come true. He will be done with going to Michigan by Christmas, and graduating and walking that well deserved stage by May 2010. It's just within his grasp and so nice to have it written down on paper. It makes it very real and not just a dream anymore. I couldn't be more proud to be Mrs. Amy Bohner....I hope you know I'm willing to walk anywhere with you Bruce....

2/13/2009

So this is the first post from my new phone, so I hope this works well. Bruce and I got blackberry curves and they are sa-weeeet!!!

Anyways, I'm here to tell you about my Friday, the 13th...
It was about 230 in the afternoon. Bruce, Oliver and I were heading into Mia's school for her Valentines Day party. Bruce was handling Oliver and I was carrying the 4 boxes of cookies that we just picked up at Buehlers. We are almost to the front doors and I all of a sudden slip my left foot off the edge of the sidewalk and snap it sideways. I fall, the boxes of cookies go flying and I land on my right knee.
Now I must admit, when I fell down like a ton of bricks, I wasn't sure I was going to get back up. First was the clicking pop I heard, then the snap inside my ankle I felt. Then came the utter embarrassment I felt from the other mothers making their way into the school as well. Some were very nice and asked how they could help. Others just looked at me and kept walking. Then the best one was the older lady that was carrying a box and goes, "oh geez, let me go put this down and I'll be right back to help you." She never came back!!! Didn't need her but SHE NEVER CAME BACK!!!
Saw her when we were signing in and she wouldn't even make eye contact with me.
So after we got back home, the pain was just getting worse and worse. Bruce told me I better go to the emergency room, so I did. Nothing is broke, just a really bad sprain. Went to the regular Dr.'s yesterday and he ended up referring me to the orthopedic guy because he didn't like the way it looked. Today I went to see him and he says air cast for 2 weeks and I'll go back and see him then.
So there was my Friday the 13th...I'm living in a bubble from now on....

New life...

Tonight Bruce and I's good friends, Brian and Amy Bammerlin became new parents. They had a little girl, Nora Ryan(sp?), she was 7 lbs. 1 oz.
I got such a high from all this excitement, it just brings everything back to me when each of my babies were born. We are going to see her tomorrow and I can't wait to hold her and smell her and all of that newborn baby stuff.
Bruce and I are planning on having maybe 2 more, but not going to try for another year or so when he should be done with school and we are in a bigger house. I also need to lose weight or I will be on one of those TLC shows of people that are stuck in their house and can't get out...lol...Kind of funny though, lose weight to gain weight, but I need to lose regardless, but that's a whole other blog.
Growing up, I knew I wanted to have kids, but never thought it would be to the extent of how I feel about babies today. Both my children came into my life under crazy (so to speak) circumstances, but were definitely blessings from the Lord above and have changed me in ways no one will ever understand. It makes me think about God and his plans for us, and I believe he has come in and "saved" my life more than once now. My children are daily reminders of how great his gifts truly are and I can't be more thankful to be trusted with such a precious thing, life.

Catching Oliver playing

It's so sweet to catch little ones learning and playing at the same time...You can almost see their little brains working, just like a miracle. I caught Oliver playing with his toy that Daddy made him for Christmas, it's awesome to see how fast he can learn how to do something!!

Here is another one that isn't so dark, except it's just him, Mia was at school...Our lighting in the house isn't the greatest!!

The kids

So here is a video I took of the kids dancing the other night..LOL, Mia has always loved music and it's looking like Oliver is going to be the same..Sometimes we just turn on the radio or put in a c.d. and bob our heads, with our white mans overbite goin...Oliver is so funny though, he will bob up and down but his newest thing is to move both his feet back and forth as fast as he can. It's hilarious to watch!!

Miss Me??

So I haven't been on here in awhile...I got pretty busy with the holidays and then with another semester of school starting for both Bruce and I, that leaving me alone with the kids Monday nights through Thursday. Also I think I just got lazy with writing to be totally honest.. =)

So the holidays were good...One of the best Christmas's I have had in awhile, for Bruce, myself and the kids. I have come to realize that maybe something will have to change next year doing the 2 families in one day. You end up feeling ripped off and ripping off who you have to visit. Not sure though what to do without hurting anyone's feelings or stepping on toes.

About a week after Christmas, we were doing a family cleaning and Mia ended up finding "Santa's wrapping paper." I make it different so there's no catching on and then just put their first initial on whatever it is. Anyways, she goes, "hey this is the same paper that Santa used." Just standing there holding it, then it was quiet for a minute....Then she goes, "Are you guys Santa Claus??" I was in denial myself and at the same time, Bruce said yes and I said no..lol...I knew she was old enough, she had gotten teased at school about it a few times and figured by next year she would figure it out. I just thought I had a whole year to work with.

Then with Santa out of the bag, my 8 1/2 year olds little world started crumbling....Next came the Easter Bunny....and, "but when I left carrots and stuff, there were little nibbles out of them!!" Then the Tooth Fairy.....Oh, it was indeed a sad day...She then turned angry and looked at Oliver, and goes, "THERE'S NO SANTA CLAUS OLIVER!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!?" Then we had to tell her that it was something that you keep a secret and don't tell anyone you know about and that it's still fun and you will still get gifts from Santa, because we still do!! She was pretty pissed though and wanted to go shout it from the rooftops that her reality was not as it had seemed for the past 8 years. About a few hours later though she was fine and all was well in the world of Mia again
